The BeOS porting team of the Mozilla project is happy to announce the availability of our Firefox 2.0 port for BeOS–compatible systems. This build incorporates numerous BeOS–specific updates in addition to all the wonderful new features supported by Firefox 2.0. One of the biggest is the ability to use Firefox as a “semi–native” app. To run without the script, before the first run of Firefox, please make the following changes inside your /firefox folder:

Create a folder called “add–ons”. Into the new add–ons folder, move the files
libfreebl3.so
libnssckbi.so
libxpistub.so

Create a folder called “lib”. Into the new lib folder, move all other files ending in “.so”
Rename “firefox–bin” to “Firefox”
From a terminal, cd to your Firefox folder and type
mimeset -F Firefox

(If in the past, you added the following lines to /boot/home/config/boot/UserSetupEnvironment
export LIBRARY_PATH=%A/.:%A/components:$LIBRARY_PATH
export ADDON_PATH=%A/.:%A/components:$ADDON_PATH please remove them. The method above is considered superior.)

Installation is simple: extract the Firefox folder from the archive. Move the folder where you want it before you run Firefox for the first time. If your create directories and move files as directed above, you will be able to run Firefox directly, without the script, and set Firefox as the default handler for http links, https links and html file MIME–types. You might also want to rename firefox–bin to Firefox prior to first launch, to make it look nice in your Deskbar.

По инструкции делал..

Файлы открываются по клику, в фоксе. Открывается второе окно фокса.Минимизированое, в левом верхнем углу экрана.
Ссылки типа http…. не открываются вовсе.

У меня даже через корпоративный ПРОКСИ все открывается.
И некто меня не админит.

УУУУУ, да ссылки не в окне фокса!!!! а урлы в других местах (на рабочем столе,в майлклиенте, в асе и тп)

А IE не юзал с 2000 года…ващее

Я сделал так.
Зашел в преференцы в закладку FileTypes
и поменял там для типа text>HTML File
Prefered Application на Firefox.
После этого при щелчке по ссылке или по файлу
в Ромашке или в окне тракера страничка открывается фоксом.
